How to get involved
Finding a suitable site
--

IN ORDER TO FIND A SUITABLE SITE FOR THE CENTRE, we have to take into account a wide range of possibilities. Finding a suitable site in short time is important if the objective is to be achieved: once a site has been identified, this will provide a significant incentive to collecting the necessary sums for its purchase.

Thus knowledge of your local area is of great importance, as it is more probable you will know of possibilities or have a useful contact.
For a description of the kind of site the Centre requires, see also the pages the spaces we need and location and setting.

WHAT CAN YOU DO?

Contact estate agencies in an area close to a suitable area, explain the project to them and make a preliminary evaluation of what is on offer.

• Alternatively, search out every source of information available on land or properties on sale (magazines, auctions, Regional governments, the diocesan administration).

You are asked, if it is possible, to make out a brief written report of the contacts you have made, even those that have met with a dead end, to contribute to the collection of information on prices, the market and availability to accumulate background knowledge of the subject. In this attachment you can find a general description (in Italian) of the requirements of the place we are looking for and the questions to which we need answers to be able to make an initial evaluation. If you are unable to answer them, perhaps you can find the right person whom we can contact directly. In particular, it would be very useful if you could provide photographs or a video of the site. On the basis of this information, if it seems the site is suitable, we will be pleased to come and visit in person.

And the price?

Our general estimation for the realization of the Project – at least in its early phase – is a million euros. However, this is no more than a ballpark figure that is influenced by a great many factors. If it were possible to find a benefactor who would be happy to contribute his property – even if it is in poor condition – the costs would be enormously reduced. Identification of a special place particularly suited to the life of the Centre would stimulate the collection of more funds and therefore permit greater expenditure. Therefore, if faced by higher sums than our estimate, do not allow yourself to be discouraged. Even if a place does not fall within our capabilities, it will be useful for us to have an idea of prices in a particular area.
