A Centre: for whom?
Who can benefit--

THE CENTRE WILL BE OPEN to anyone who wishes to experience and explore the practice of mindfulness and its benefits, by offering people the opportunity for a period of rest and meditation in a serene and welcoming environment. Using the tools of mindfulness offered by Thich Nhat Hanh, visitors will benefit from a sense of freshness, stability and lucidity that they can then take back into their lives and relationships. The Centre will be open to everybody, whatever life’s past experiences and religious belief they have, whether or not they have previous experience of meditation.
Retreats, mindfulness days and meetings open to anyone will be offered throughout the year. There will be periods, particularly in summer, that will be dedicated to families, with special attention to children of all ages; programmes will be run in which the purpose will be to transmit to them the pleasure to get in touch with themselves and nature through games, exploration, touch, singing and bodily expression.
Thich Nhat Hanh often guides retreats or talks aimed at particular social or professional categories (Vietnam vets, convicts, policemen, businessmen, members of Parliament and all types of civil servant). Similarly, certain retreats at the Centre may tackle problems arising in different contexts - familiar, social, professional - particularly exposed to stress in times like these. Possible recipients of specific retreats may be for example persons involved in caregiving or in any context of strong social responsibility, like education (parents, teachers, educators working in schools or rehabilitation centres), social and health work (social workers and volunteers helping persons with disabilities, elderly and people living on the fringe of society), therapeutics (physiotherapists, nurses, physicians, psychotherapists), as well as spiritual contexts.
In all the Centre’s activities (seminars, meetings, etc.), different forms of recreation, expression and body care will be included, to enhance and complete the practice of mindfulness.
